In the arithmetic of Parliament, legislative ranking is the hidden currency of influence. It is the measure of how many times a representative has returned to the chamber, and it determines who gets the juicy positions, who chairs the powerful committees, and who commands the flow of projects. A ranking member, seasoned by return after return, stands taller when decisions are made. For a constituency, this ranking is not abstract, it is the difference between development flowing in and promises drying out.
For the people of Ile-Oluji Okeigbo/Odigbo Federal Constituency, the evidence is already before us. Hon. Festus Ayodele Adefiranye, our own Fesy Leekansi, has proven his mettle as a first-term legislator. Without the privileges of ranking, he delivered tarred roads in Okeigbo, Ile-Oluji, and Odigbo despite the challenges of budget implementation since 2024. He brought the Okeigbo ICT Center, a beacon of digital empowerment for our youths. He secured the 250-bed Federal Health Center, transforming healthcare access for thousands. He delivered the feature transformer project, stabilizing electricity and powering homes and businesses. He fought for the dualisation of the Ore–Akure road, easing journeys, reducing accidents, and opening the arteries of commerce. These are not promises; they are monuments of service standing in our midst.
Now imagine what ranking status would mean for Ile-Oluji Okeigbo/Odigbo. Greater access to federal projects, stronger bargaining power in committees, louder voice in national debates, and continuity of the development already begun. One good turn, as the elders say, deserves another. Adefiranye has proven his love for his federal Constituency, and returning him ensures that our constituency reaps the full harvest of legislative ranking.
