PBAT Legacy Movement Nigeria has unveiled a bold initiative aimed at reviving agriculture and strengthening the food industry through a nationwide programme. At the core of this plan is the training of 100,000 youths across 774 local government areas, with a focus on the agricultural value chain. The effort is designed to boost food sufficiency, job creation, and economic development.
The programme proposes strategic collaborations with support groups, ministries, government agencies, and private donors. By partnering with all 774 local governments and support groups across the country, the initiative seeks to ensure effective coordination of training, product supply, data generation, and accreditation of participants.
At the heart of this movement is the launch of a national food revolution, tagged “Operations Feed the Nation.” Driven by PBAT Legacy Movement Nigeria, the campaign aims to mobilize resources and stakeholders towards achieving food sufficiency and reducing unemployment.
The proposal will engage multiple ministries, including the Ministry of Women Affairs, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Ministry of Youth, and the Federal Ministry of Finance. This multi-sectoral approach is expected to enhance efficiency, accountability, and sustainability of the programme.
The initiative is being piloted by Director General Hon. Bolori Muhammend Kaka Umar and National Coordinator Adelokiki Orimisan, whose leadership emphasizes effective data management and project coordination to ensure the success of the national food revolution.
The PBAT Legacy Movement’s food sufficiency programme represents a significant step towards addressing Nigeria’s agricultural challenges. With strategic collaborations, youth empowerment, and multi-ministry support, the initiative is poised to drive economic growth, create jobs, and secure the nation’s food future.
