Aiyedatiwa’s Appointments: Agboola Congratulates Ileoluji/Okeigbo Political Aides

The Secretary to the Legislative Council (SLG) of Ileoluji/Okeigbo Local Government, Otunba Agboola Abiodun Samson, has congratulated sons and daughters of the local government recently appointed as Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
Agboola described the appointments as a welcome recognition of loyalty, dedication and commitment to the development of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ondo State and the people of Ileoluji/Okeigbo, noting that the gesture would further strengthen the connection between government and the grassroots.
According to him, political appointments come with both honour and responsibility, stressing that the newly appointed aides must see their positions as opportunities to serve rather than privileges to celebrate. He urged them to demonstrate humility, accessibility and responsiveness while contributing meaningfully to the development of their communities and the state.
He further encouraged the appointees to work together in the collective interest of the people, reminding them that “a tree does not make a forest.” He said unity among the political aides would help build stronger grassroots engagement and ensure that the voice of the people is effectively connected to government.
The SLG also commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for what he described as an inclusive gesture, saying the recognition of party members from Ileoluji/Okeigbo would further deepen grassroots participation in governance. He noted that when the roots are properly nourished, the branches will inevitably flourish.
Agboola added that the appointments have further strengthened the confidence of many APC stakeholders in the administration, declaring that the people of Ileoluji/Okeigbo now have “more than 27 good reasons to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 and 31 reasons to continue supporting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa till 2031.”
He stressed that governance goes beyond policies and physical projects, adding that creating opportunities for qualified citizens to participate meaningfully in government is also an important part of democratic governance.
Quoting the Yoruba proverb, “Agbajo ọwọ́ la ń fi ń s’ọba,” Agboola said collective effort remains essential to achieving meaningful progress, expressing confidence that the new appointments would translate into stronger unity, deeper grassroots engagement and tangible benefits for the people.
He congratulated all the appointees and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by serving with integrity, humility and commitment.
“Your appointment is an honour, but more importantly, it is a call to service. Make it count for the people,” he said.
