When Experience Meets Intellect: Why Kekemeke Could Redefine Representation in Ondo South

The search for quality representation in Ondo South Senatorial District is once again taking centre stage, as the people look towards a representative with the experience, intellectual depth and political maturity to give the district a stronger voice at the national level. In this unfolding conversation, Hon. Dr. Isaac Duerimini Kekemeke, Ph.D, BL, the APC candidate for Ondo South, has emerged as a figure whose credentials are attracting considerable attention.
Kekemeke is not a stranger to the corridors of power. His political journey has taken him from the Ondo State House of Assembly, where he served as Minority Leader, to the position of Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, and later Secretary to the Ondo State Government. His experience was further broadened as APC National Vice Chairman (South West). Having served across the legislative, executive and political spheres, Kekemeke brings to the contest a wealth of experience that could prove valuable in navigating the complexities of national politics.
But beyond the titles and positions lies an intellectual depth that his supporters consider one of his strongest assets. With a doctorate degree and a legal background, Kekemeke possesses the academic and professional grounding to engage complex legislative matters and policy issues. At a time when effective representation requires more than occupying a seat, the ability to understand issues, build consensus and make a compelling case for one’s constituents can make all the difference.
For his supporters, this is where Kekemeke could have an edge. They see in him a meeting point between experience and intellect, political exposure and institutional knowledge—a combination they believe could turn representation from mere presence into meaningful impact. As one supporter put it, “When experience meets intellect, quality representation is no longer a distant expectation but a realistic possibility.” The argument is that Ondo South deserves a representative who can not only speak for the people but also understand the system well enough to get things done.
As political activities gather momentum, the expectations surrounding the next phase of representation in Ondo South will continue to grow. Whether Kekemeke will translate his extensive experience and intellectual capacity into tangible results will ultimately be judged by the people and, if elected, by his performance in office. For now, however, his candidacy has placed competence, experience and intellectual capacity firmly at the heart of the conversation and that could be the beginning of a new chapter for representation in Ondo South.
