Adebare Administration Unveils Major Empowerment, Education, Infrastructure Programmes

The administration of the Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, Hon. Adeboye Adebare, is set to roll out a major package of empowerment, educational, agricultural and infrastructural interventions aimed at improving the welfare of residents and strengthening grassroots development.

The programmes, scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Secretariat, will include the foundation stone-laying ceremony for a modern parliamentary building, alongside the distribution of educational materials, cash empowerment for youths and women, and agricultural inputs to farmers.

A major highlight of the programme is the provision of 1,000 school bags and 21,000 big notebooks for pupils in all government primary schools across the local government. The initiative is expected to provide direct support to pupils and ease some of the educational expenses confronting families.

Also, 320 youths and women will receive ₦100,000 each as cash empowerment under the programme. The intervention, which cuts across the local government, is aimed at providing beneficiaries with financial support to strengthen existing businesses, commence new ventures or improve their economic activities.

Farmers are not left out of the intervention, with the administration set to distribute fertiliser to support agricultural activities and enhance productivity. The inclusion of farmers alongside youths, women and schoolchildren gives the programme a broad grassroots focus.

The foundation stone-laying for the proposed modern parliamentary building adds an institutional dimension to the programme. The project is expected to contribute to the development of the local government’s administrative infrastructure and provide a more suitable environment for legislative activities at the grassroots.

The special programme will commence at 9:00 a.m., with beneficiaries expected to be seated on time. Beneficiaries of the cash empowerment programme are required to come with their issued slips and valid means of identification for verification.

The announcement reflects an administration seeking to combine human capital development with infrastructure, education and agricultural support. While the immediate beneficiaries will be individuals and institutions, the broader expectation is that the interventions will contribute to improved livelihoods and stronger grassroots development across Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo.

The programme is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the local government secretariat, with members of the public invited to attend.

The full list of the 320 empowerment beneficiaries is contained in the accompanying blogged publication.
